Lenten Vespers

Lenten Vespers

My dear friends,

I am looking forward to experiencing the upcoming season of Lent with you. It is a time for growth and for deepening in our relationship with God and with God’s creation. In our special weekly vespers services I will be teaching a series of messages entitled Holy Intersections: Experiencing the Sacramental Life.

The follower of Christ lives in two worlds: the invisible world of the kingdom of God and the visible world of this earth. These two worlds intersect in Jesus Christ who is both human and divine. Through him we are able to experience the divine realm of God through God’s earthly creation. We call this holy intersection a Sacrament. It is a visible sign of an invisible reality. It is God’s heavenly life pouring out into our earthly world.

During this holy season of Lent, we will explore the meaning of sacrament and learn to practice living sacramentally. In doing so we will learn to more fully experience the heavenly life laid out before us and become a sacrament ourselves for the world to experience God.

I invite you to join us at 6 pm on Wednesdays for our Vesper services, which will include special musical offerings by our wonderfully gifted musicians, followed by simple and nourishing meals:

2/25- Spirit and Water: The Intersection of Creation

3/04- Heaven and Earth: The Intersection of Revelation

3/11- Soul and Body: The Intersection of Salvation

3/18- Will and Action: The Intersection of Transformation

3/25- Presence and Meal: The Intersection of Consummation

Seeking to be a holy intersection for God in this world,

Pastor Paul
