FPC Branding Standards (Draft)

At FPC Garland, there are a lot of opportunities to standardize on branding across all correspondence, forms and publications.  This includes internal and external interactions across both electronic and physical publications.  There are so many areas to address and so identifying what to focus on is critical to ensure we make the biggest impact.  The recommendation is that we focus on the following:

  • External communications
  • Building blocks
  • Standardized Templates

Branding standards start here

  • Building blocks – that will provide the foundation of standard
    • Initially we should focus on the key elements that make up our brand.  This should including graphics (Icons, logos), sayings, and layouts.  These will the foundation that will be used to build templates where possible.  Specific fonts are NOT important but guidelines on readability could be beneficial.
  • Graphics
    • Header Graphic – Use on Social media and other publications as the header graphic
    • Header Logo – Use this as the header logo on Social and web sites (See example of its use on our Youtube or website)
    •    Non Transparent White Background – This can be used on various sites like YouTube, on the website and in other media and publications
    •  Transparent background with dark background – This is a good version of the icon to use on a video and is used as the left corner logo for our streaming services.
  • Fonts
    • There are a wide number of great fonts to choose from.  At this time we dont recommend picking a single font or set of fonts, but recommend general guidance.  Stay away from cursive fonts and other fonts that are hard to read.
    • One very popular font to consider is Helvetica. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helvetica
    • In addition, as we develop templates for the website, mail, powerpoint and word templates font details can be included in those.  I would suggest as those templates are created we standardize on fonts where is makes sense and as a part of that process may determine more specific font standards at that time.
  • Phrases, Sayings
    • These sayings and others can be used on social media, web, correspondence and publications.
    • Vision Slogan – “Worship God, Prepare Disciples,  Serve the World”
    • Vision – “A Caring Congregation Seeking God’s Purpose in a Changing World To Equip and to Send Forth Disciples with Christ’s Love Through the Power of the Holy Spirit”
