Vocal Choirs
Our vocal ensembles are under the direction of Elizabeth Smith. All groups meet in the choir room except the Kinder Choir.

Adults:  The Chancel Choir is the principal ensemble serving the 10:50am Sunday worship service, and performs extended works for the Christmas season and Good Friday.  All adults and high school youth are welcome—the only requirement is a willingness to sing and enjoy the community of this lively group.  The choir rehearses Wednesdays at 7:30pm.

Youth:  The Youth Choir performs in Sunday morning services, a Christmas program with the Elementary and Bell Choirs, and Maundy Thursday worship.  All junior and senior high youth are invited to participate.  We rehearse Sunday evenings.

Children:  The Elementary Choir welcomes children in grades 2-5, and takes part in Sunday morning worship as well as the annual Christmas program with the Youth and Bell Choirs.  Musical games and percussion are included in the fun of rehearsals on Sunday mornings.

Ruah/Early Service Band
Ruah specializes in music that lies outside the repertoire of our other ensembles.  In its short history, the group has performed a wide range of music, from Rock to Celtic folk tunes, for outdoor events and special services as well as Sunday morning worship.  For the 8:30am Sunday worship service, we focus on leading the congregation in a variety of new songs for worship, drawn from contemporary, traditional, and global sources.   The band is led by Bob Williams and Oscar DeLuna.

Handbell Choirs

The FPC Handbell Choirs are directed by Cathy Fields. No experience is required to play in a bell choir: come and learn, and have fun along the way!  Bell Choirs meet in the handbell room in the Education Center.  All the handbell groups participate in Sunday morning worship and in special services throughout the year.

Adults:

The Chancel Chimes meet on Wednesdays at 6:30pm.  This recently formed group has already offered some fine performances, but we need more ringers—come join us!

Joyful Noise

Adults, don’t ™let your old instrument tarnish in the attic!  Students, play for fun instead of a grade!  Formed in 2004, the Joyful Noise provides a place to refresh or build your skills and have fun playing with an intergenerational group of musicians.  Led by Gloria Jordan, the full ensemble and various small groups play in worship services throughout the year, and for the annual Christmas Dinner.   Contact Gloria for rehearsal times.
